Helix Investment Group

Have anyone came across this investment group?

I found this investment company weird as I think they are paying people for referral.

The company has a Facebook page which listed the company as a bank or financial institution, which got me curious and decided to find out more.

However, when I tried to search for this company in MAS website, I can’t find it at all. That means, it is neither a bank nor a financial institution that registered with MAS. Then it should be considered as an Investment company. But it was also not registered with MAS.

When an investment company, which is not regulated by MAS, is mentioned, I may relate it to MLM, Ponzi scheme etc. I decided to do a google search on the company.

The company has a website that introduces themselves as an alternative investment in Asia.

The images are captured from their website.

About them

It appears that they are selling structured investments but are not regulated by MAS.

I was just wondering: Are their investments considered high risk?

Apparently, they are investing in Brazil property or land.

This is the brochure that shows their investment.

I guess they are a new company launched in Oct 2013 in Singapore and has been hiring aggressively. I found a few ads in different jobs sites. Here are 2 of them.

There were also other positions found in their website.

I couldn’t find out more information as the company is relatively new.

I found a company with the same name. It is Helix Investment Group, LLC. The information is as below.

Here is what I found!

So the company, HELIX INVESTMENT GROUP PTE. LTD., is previously known as WEALSOL CAPITAL GLOBAL PTE. LTD.

So I tried to google on this Wealsol Capital Global PL.

This is what shown on their website, which is quite similar to Helix Investment Group.

And this company is found in the MAS Investor Alert list! However, in the list, it is listed as Wealsol Pte Ltd, instead of Wealsol Global Capital PL. But the address is the same.

I found these in Facebook.
Apparently, the last update was in 5 September 2013.

Well, if the two companies (Helix and Wealsol) are related, then I guess the investors have to be more cautious.

I normally don’t quite hear of regulated investment company will give referral fees, which can be an average executive’s monthly salary. Hence, the first impression that came to my mind is Ponzi scheme or Moneygame. But of cos, it’s just my personal opinion.

I really do not know about this Helix Investment Group PL. I guess those are familiar can leave down your comments, if any.

There isn’t enough details to determine is this a good deal or otherwise.

Things like, how long it takes to mature. how much it is need to go into this investment etc etc.

Quite a few companies has been doing such things, selling properties in other countries.

I am super curious how they make money.

Real estate agencies selling overseas properties will have their clients signing an option to purchase or a sales and purchase agreement. Clients who purchase overseas property or land will have solicitors to assist them in the contract and payment and they will have a title deed. Real estate agencies are also registered with CEA.
For banks’ structured deposits or investments, I think it works in such a way that eg. Banks pay investors 10% p.a. but they lend the money to property developers at 13% p.a. for project financing and the difference is what the bank earns. If there’s any mis-sell by the bank representative, the clients can complain to MAS.
It appears that this investment company is neither a real estate agency nor a bank or FI. Hence, you do not know where your investments really go to. So it’s not about whether this is a good deal. If it really is a scam, it’s definitely not good and people who invest will suffer.

Hedge funds are not regulated by MAS.
are they also considered Ponzi or MLM ?

they too paid salary of 200 to 300k to staff who rope in high net worth to invest 10 to 20 mios …

is MAS putting these hedge funds in alert list ?

when u refer a friend to take up say a bank housing loan, you can be rewarded with a referral fee too…

so should police or CAD also be alerted to investigate hedge funds ?

Thanks for your efforts in doing all the research! Appreciated that. I was wondering why the information in their events is so limited while they’re looking for investors. (They replied me in email) http://www.eventbrite.sg/e/exclusive-development-funding-opportunities-tickets-18409765103
