TOUCH Community Services 25th Anniversary Limited Edition LEGO Set

TOUCH Community Services is celebrating its 25th Anniversary by launching limited edition commemorative sets, using LEGO® parts.

Each commemorative set comes with separate LEGO® parts that you can assemble into photo frames with three familiar local scenes – ‘The Playground’, ‘The Void Deck’ and ‘The Mama Shop’, designed in line with TOUCH Vision 2030: Strong Families • Caring Generations • Enabled Communities.

For LEGO lovers, here’s your chance to collect commemorative memorabilia of iconic Singapore scenes, built with LEGO parts!

With every donation of $350 or more, you will receive one full set (comprising ALL THREE designs) in appreciation of your support. Only 500 sets comprising three different designs are available!

All 500 sets will be given on a first-come-first-serve basis, and while stocks last. Donations go towards the services of TOUCH in improving the lives of the needy and disadvantaged.

As a regular donor for TOUCH, I immediately donated S$350 when I came across this as my children love LEGO. This is why I would also like to share with you about this limited edition LEGO set while you can help the needy and disadvantaged by donating S$350. On top of that, your donation of S$350 donation will get 250% tax deduction. That’s S$875 of tax relief! Donate now by clicking here.

I received my parcel from TOUCH Community Services within 1 week from my S$350 donation,

It was hand delivered by easy parcel. The box was wrapped in a clear plastic with the courier invoice on it. Hence I did not take a photo of it.

A cover letter by the CEO of TOUCH Community Services thanking me for the donation printed on high quality paper.

My Little World products are made from original LEGO® products. However, they are not endorsed, supported or associated with The Lego Group.

The three designs come in packs of separate bricks and six mini figurines, placed in a box with instructions on how to assemble them.

The Playground-Daddy & Ah Girl Set

The Void Deck-Ah Gong & Ah Boy Set & The Mama Shop-Ah Ma & Mummy Set

Alyssa chose the Daddy & Ah Girl Set as she said she is the Ah Girl and she loves playground.

Asher chose the Ah Gong & Ah Boy Set as he is the little boy.

And they started building… and I built the Ah Ma & Mummy set. I couldn’t just miss out the fun building them right?

Acrylic holders are also provided for us to place our favourite photos.
Dimensions: 127mm (Length) x 63mm (Breadth) x 195mm (Height of Acrylic frame).
When the three sets are placed together, the combined length would be 381mm.

As what TOUCH Community Services said:”Like the many bricks that are pieced together to form iconic and familiar structures in our neighbourhoods, each and every one of us plays an integral role in the community. When we come together as One Community with our talents and experiences as a form of support for those in need, we can make Singapore a better place for us and our future generations.”

Immediately go to Iconic Singapore scenes, built with LEGO® parts By Roger to support TOUCH 25th Anniversary and make a donation online now!

Please type “350” (or any number more than 350) in the space (with SG$) just above the red “Donate Now” button. Please also type your mailing address in the donation form which will appear after you click “Donate Now”. To do so, uncheck the ‘I do not need a printed tax-deduction receipt’ option.

In appreciation of your donation, one commemorative set (of three designs) will be given per donation of $350 or more – on a first-come-first-serve basis, while stocks last. The commemorative sets are not for sale.

Review: Tamrare Collagen Mandarin Mask Pack

Daily Masking Review: Tamrare Collagen Mandarin Mask Pack

The Mask contains Jeju mandarin fermentation and 1,500m deep ocean water. Fermented Citrus ingredient provides long lasting moisture, gives the skin vitality. Rich deep ocean water is a natural ingredient, makes skin fresh and clean thoroughly. Collagen ingredients keep skin soft and elastic.

The mask claims to keep skin clean and smooth, stimulates blood circulation and has high moisturizing effect. I will check it out.

Main ingredients: Jeju mandarin fermentation, deep ocean water 1,500m, collagen

How to use:

  1. After cleansing, use skin care lotion.
  2. Take out one sheet of the mask, apply onto face accordingly to facial contour close to the skin.
  3. Leave the mask sheet on for 15 to 20 minutes. Remove the mask.
  4. Use your finger to gently massage the skin, so that the remaining essence is fully absorbed onto the skin.

I smelled mandarin orange when I opened the packaging. It was sweet. I still smelled the mask when it was placed on my face for 15 minutes but it smelled artificial after sometime.

The mask was cooling and moisturizing when placed on my face. There was not a lot of remaining essence on my face and I just massaged them onto my skin. My face still felt cool and moisturized after removal.

Moisturizing effect is good. I guess it takes time to see firming effect.

Price: US$3.15 (Now at US$0.86. I bought it at US$1.52)

Review: The Saem Natural Oatmeal Mask Sheet

Daily Masking Review: the SAEM Natural Oatmeal Mask Sheet (Moisturizing)

This mask sheet contains oatmeal extract, which draws moisture into the skin. It keeps moisture in the skin for long hours by forming a protective moisture layer over the tired skin.

Major ingredient: : Oatmeal extract (1,000ppm), hydroxyethylcellulose, prickly pear fruit extract
Oatmeal from Canada.

How to use:

  1. Wash face and use toner.
  2. Open pouch and place onto face centering from eyes and nose.
  3. After 20~25 minutes remove mask and tap excess amount of essence for absorption.

The essence was milky in colour but it was watery. I could apply the remaining essence in the packaging for both my legs.

I also love the sweet scent of the mask. I could smell it when the mask was placed on my face. The mask provides instant moisture to my skin. It was soothing and cooling. No irritation.

I didn’t apply moisturizer for the night and my skin was not dry when I woke up the next morning. My skin looks smoother the next day.
Great buy for an affordable mask!

Review: Secret Key Black Out Pore 3 Step Nose Pack

Beauty Review: Secret Key Black Out Pore 3 Step Nose Pack

The area that I have the most pores and blackheads is my nose and I’m sure that is the case for most people. That’s why there are currently so many nose strips or nose packs in the market.

This is my second time trying out the nose strip. Check out my review on Me Factory Pig Collagen Nose Pack. It is also a 3 step nose pack.

Tonight, I’m trying out the Secret Key Black Out Pore 3 Step Nose Pack. It contains Charcoal Powder which controls sebum secretion.

The nose pack contains Witch hazel extract that soothes skin and remove pores impurities. Tea tree, lemon and lime ingredient gently give healthy sebum removal. Coconut ferment cellulose pack provides skin moisture with soothing care.

Major ingredients:
No.1: charcoal, rice, black sesame, grape, seaweed, peppermint, Saponaria Officinalis Root, Western pepper herbs, Witch Hazel water, sage leaves, Melissa Officinalis Leaf, Juniperus Communis Fruit
No. 2: lemon, lime, green tea water, tea tree leaf water, cypress water
No. 3: Illicium Verum, papaya fruit, Witch Hazel, Centella asiatica, Portulaca Oleracea

Step 1 : Place sheet on nose, remove after 15~20 minutes.

The nose mask is lightly scented and smells good. It doesn’t hurt (unlike another brand that I have tried). In fact, it is cooling and it only stings a little towards the end of the 15 minutes.

Step 2 : Tap step 1 sheet excess amount of essence, place step 2 pack until completely dry.

I wet my nose with the essence from Step 1 and stick the dry nose strip onto my nose for about 15 minutes.

I removed it after 15 minutes by slowly peeling it from the edge. It’s not painful. Spotted blackheads on the strip and noted that more were removed from the right side of my nose.

Step 3 : Remove sheet film and place on the nose. After 5~10 minutes remove sheet and tap gently for absorption.

I placed the hydrogel mask on my nose for 10 minutes. I love the fact that it is a hydrogel mask and is soothing to my skin. It is cooling and moisturizing too.

I love this Secret Key Black Out Pore 3 Step Nose Pack, especially Step 3, compared to Me Factory Pig Collagen Nose Pack

Step 1 is not hot and does not sting my nose. Step 2 requires me to Wet my nose with Step 1 essence and not water. Step 3 hydrogel mask is soothing and moisturizing.

Thumbs up for this great nose pack. I can see lesser black heads on my nose.

Allantoin ingredient protect skin from external environment with soothing effect with apple, orange and honey extract giving fresh scent moisture.

  3. Place film removed skin on skin from nose to center and lips to center gently.
  4. Remove after 20~30 minutes, tap gently for excess amount of content to absorb.

The mask was a little wet when I took out from the packaging but completely dry after 30 minutes when I removed from my face. I guessed the essence was absorbed into my skin. It was cooling and a little soothing. My skin felt tighter and moisturized after removal of the mask. However, I felt the hydrating effect is not good enough.

Review: The Saem Natural-tox Apple Mask Sheet

I apologize for not being reviewing the masks recently as I was trying to clear the masks that were expiring since my trip in May.

Tonight’s review is on the SAEM Natural–tox Apple Mask Sheet (Smoothening & Brightening).

This Red Apple Mask contains plant nutrition of lycopene, polyphenol and organic acid, to cleanse the skin texture and provide healthy radiance to the skin.

Pulp mask sheet with 100% natural corn does not contain Artificial color, Animality, Paraben, Benzophenone and Mineral oil.

How to use:

  1. After face wash use toner.
  2. Open pouch place onto face from eyes and nose fitting skin evenly.
  3. Take off the mask after 20~25 minutes and tap gently for excess content to absorb.

Once opened, I can smell apple. I love the sweet apple smell. Please be gentle when opening the mask as it is quite a thin mask. It fits nicely onto the face.

The mask provides cooling and moisturizing effect to my face. I felt the moisturizing effect is not that effective but this is a smoothening and brightening mask after all. I normally prefer hydration mask. However, I love the red apple smell.

My skin doesn’t look smooth when I first removed the mask as the mask sheet was of uneven surface (like corn) but my skin looks a little brighter. Remaining essence was very minimal, hence just need to pat shortly onto the face.

Overall, it’s just a mask that smells nice

Price: ₩1,000 (~S$1.24)

Family Fun At Wild Wild Wet!

Children love water park. So do we! We always wanted to visit Wild Wild Wet at Downtown East, but just couldn’t find time to do so, although we have been talking about it for years. (OMG! Yes it was.)

We were so glad to enter for Free on 4 June 2017! Thanks to the Seeing Double promotion at Downtown East! My children were looking forward to Wild Wild Wet and were counting down for that Sunday!

We were frantically looking for identical tops and bottoms.

We managed to dress the children with an identical Hush Puppies polo tee and their school shorts. Hmm. That’s the only identical pair that they have. I have a few identical tees with Alyssa but we cannot find the same bottom. Hence, we decided to dress Alyssa and Asher with identical clothes while I dressed identically with my hubby. (This was the only time I got to wear the same as my hubby.)

Many people were there queuing before 9am. I was seeing double everywhere. It’s rather fun doing this!

As usual for all theme parks, Alyssa had her height measurement.

So did Asher! But he failed badly. Lol!

Everyone was so excited to go in at 9am!

The emcee was getting the crowds ready to take part in setting Singapore Book of Records for the Most Number of People In Pairs Dressed Identically & win exciting prizes in the Best Dressed Competition.

But my children were too excited on The Woosh, Singapore’s Longest Inflatable Freestyle Water Slide at Downtown East, that we had to go try it out!

You know how kids adore inflatable, especially it is The Woosh, Singapore’s Longest Inflatable Freestyle Water Slide at 50 metres long!

You can woosh down on your own, with a slide or with a tube.

I’m so proud of my children climbing up the steps and slide down on their own.

Alyssa had her fun sliding down but she was too lightweight to complete the 50m. So we decided to go for second round with the tubes for the children and slides for the adults.

Asher had fun wooshing down the slide!

And we were so proud that he did it on his own!

So did Alyssa! And they wanted again and again!

That’s me wooshing down with a slide! It’s much more fun than just sliding down on my butt.

It’s time to explore Wild Wild Wet for other rides!

Click here to download Wild Wild Wet Water Park Map.

We first visited the Splash Play! Well, not a nice photo though cos too many kids love this water playground.

So did Asher!

Families with young ones can enjoy the all-new Splash Play where little ones can slosh around the low water with fun jets and water sprays.

We went to the Kids Zone next but you will see a lot of adults enjoying these water slides! Give the young ones a taste of a wilder world at the all-new kids’ water paradise that is filled with exhilarating pint-sized versions of the big rides!

Alyssa had so much fun!

Where were Daddy and Asher heading to?

But it’s Alyssa that came out first!

Here comes Asher!

He was so thrilled!

Even Daddy had fun in Kids Zone! And we have not even tried out other water rides!

A must visit for Kids Zone, especially if you have young children!

Wow! Shiok River is a must for us parents or the stressed adults who need to destress! Take a breather, go with the flow and let the trip wash away your cares. It’s a great way to escape from all the commotion and noise of everyday life.

Spanning 335 metres in length, Shiok River skirts the perimeter of the park, meandering through a variety of lush landscape that will leave you soothed and invigorated.

Remember to let your children wear the free jackets. There are life jackets for teenagers and adults too!

Tubes are optional for those who prefer to travel at their own pace. You can snooze your way through a dream-filled journey that will last as long as you want. Or take a quick dip to recharge your batteries before plunging into some of our more exciting rides again!

Look at how Shiok Asher was!

Alyssa too!

Daddy totally nailed it! Shiok till drop dead!

Mummy was busy taking photo of how Shiok they were!

Next, we moved on to Ular-lah!

But Asher was too short! So Alyssa got to sit twice, once with Daddy and the other with me.

The first raft slide in Southeast Asia, Ular-Lah is a super flume ride that offers you a chance to brave the rapids with five other companions. Ideal for thrill and adrenaline seekers, it’s the closest thing you’ll ever experience next to white water rafting!

No camera allowed up there for most adults rides. Hence, no photos but you should really give these rides a try!

There is a must try ride for all adults. I resisted initially but I was glad to try. It’s the Torpedo (the slides in orange and black). My children were too short for it (minimum height is 1.22m) and Daddy and I went as single rider while the children were at the Professor’s Playground.

The first of its kind in Singapore, the all-new Torpedo ejects you from an 18-metre-high capsule right into a heart-stopping free fall, which propels you straight into a manic trajectory of hair raising twist and turns at mind-numbing speed of up to 70km/hr. It’s definitely not for the faint hearted!

Experience free-falling from four storeys high and twist and turn on Torpedo! I hate it when the countdown started from 5 and the door at your feet opened at 0, followed by an evil laugh while you fell straight through and off you slide.

Remember, no accessories, watches etc allowed. Nothing, except your bikini or swimming shorts. There’s a locker at level 1 to put all your items, if not, you have to walk down the 4 storeys of stairs and climb up again.

Before we entered the Professor’s Playground, it’s Yippee!, a shallow sloshing area filled with soft play equipment designed to provide a safe and fun environment for toddlers.

My children were more keen to visit the intermediate Professor’s Playground next door!

Designed around the theme of an experimental laboratory, Professor’s Playground packs a myriad of classic fixtures such as slides, ladders, water cannons and fountains.

At a comfortable depth of 0.3 metres, it’s safe even for the most zealous child keen on exploring and taking charge of his/her surroundings.

One thing’s for sure, playing in the water has never been this fun!

Everyone was waiting anxiously for the water pour while the bell was ringing away.

All of them welcomed the water pouring in the sunny weather.

We spent most of our time in Professor’s Playground as the children enjoyed the water and slides.

Last but not least, Tsunami combines the best of swimming pools and the sea to give you the excitement of the surf under controlled conditions. Without the hassle of choppy swells or dangerous currents, even kids can feel totally at ease in the water.

Take your time to enjoy these waves as you lie back and soak up the sun and fun.

We didn’t get to try out all the rides due to time constraint.

And that’s the only photo that I got to take with my hubby! (We were too busy having fun with the children!)

My Take!

Definitely a fun place not only for family but for couples and friends. Will definitely revisit to try out the rest of the rides too.
Most probably, I will also try out the D’Resort (newly renovated chalet which I have heard good reviews from my colleagues). It is situated just next to Wild Wild Wet. A staycation will be good. Do check out the Seeing Double promotion for D’Resort too.

Book for Children: The Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing

My children borrowed this book from the library which doesn’t look interesting to me. The saying “Don’t judge a book by its cover” is true as this book is interesting!

This is a retelling of Aesop’s Fable “The Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing”.

This is a Yellow Level book.

The book is easy to read.

I am skipping a few pages. Basically, the wolf was trying to eat the sheep and thinking of a way to get behind the high fence to reach the sheep.

And he managed to bluff his way through the high fence and get into the crowd.

But the farmer came back and killed a sheep!

But what was killed is actually a wolf in sheep’s clothing.

I find it funny with this ending. But it teaches the children not to lie.

This book is recommended for preschoolers who are learning to read. This is a reader. The children can read it by themselves with the guidance of adults.

You can find a similar book at Book Depository by clicking on the link. Or search for more books by clicking on the banner below.

Review: Wellage Vita Red Injection Mask

Daily Masking Review: Wellage Vita Red Injection Mask

I like to try new things, especially sheet masks. However, I’m a person who likes hassle free, that’s why I like sheet masks. Hence, I initially hesitated to buy this mask as it requires 2 steps before I can use.

I read reviews that injection masks are fun, so I decided to give a try and let my kids have some fun. I bought this mask at a discounted price (<US$1).

Product Information:

This mask is a new concept that put the fresh pure powder form of Vitamin with excellent effect in the mask right before use. Vitamin C’s browning phenomenon appears in 30 minutes due to oxidation. To prevent browning, cosmetics that contains Vitamin C usually comes with a lot of preservatives.

Vita red is vitamin mask that whitens skin tone and makes the imperfections become lighter by reducing the melanin. It also protects your skin by neutralizing the increasing harmful oxygen inside the skin due to the UV rays. It also promotes the creation of collagen which is protein ingredient and increases skin elasticity.

This is a Wrinkle improvement mask pack focusing on skin aging problem with anti-aging active ingredients and Complete hypoallergenic dermatologist tested.

How to use?

Step 1. Syringe ampoule

You have to push and pop the “red stick”.

  1. Strongly push the piston of the syringe while facing up the lid to peel off the inner lid.
  2. Move the piston up and down to mix Vitamin C powder.
  3. Open the upper lid and push the piston to put the well-mixed Vitamin C and essence into the pack, close the lid and mix well.

My girl had fun pushing the piston of the syringe.

Step 2. Mask Sheet

  1. After washing, wipe off skin with toner.
  2. Attach the mask with Step 1 ampoule on the face.
  3. Peel off the mask after 10-20 minutes, then tap the remaining liquid for absorption.

I placed the mask for 15 minutes. While having the mask on my face, I did the daily routine of pouring the remaining essence out and apply on my legs. There was a lot of remaining essence in this pack. I used it not only on my calves, but my feet and my thighs. I like it that I can pour the essence out from the tube.

The mask was cooling and moisturizing. I don’t see immediate brightening or Whitening effect. However, the moisturizing effect was good. Other than that, I think it’s an extra step for me to inject the ampoule into the mask.
